LFG Roland D.VIb

LFG Roland D.VIb, 1918
The Roland D.VI was a fighter aircraft commissioned by the German Empire during World War I. Shown here is the beautifully crafted unusual construction of the fuselage with thin overlapping spruce strips on a light wooden frame. The last remaining one is on display at the Polish Aviation Museum in Cracow
