25 s F/10 ISO 400 EF 70-200 at 140mm, tripod mounted

The Monument of the Common Memory in Park grabiszyński, located on the place of the now nonexistant crematorium. Many former cemetaries in Wrocław gave way to parks, blocks of flats, factories. The tombstones were used to pave roads, make enbankments and new tombstones. A large amount of those tombstones was uncovered at a monumental mason's workshop near Wrocław and 200 that were well preserved were bought by the city council. Later a competition was held to design a monument commemorating former inhabitants of our city. The monument was opened in 2009.

In the book that divine Andy is reading at the moment(Obce miasto Wrocław) the author even gives the example of tombstones used as the reclaimed material in a porcelain factory.
