One evening we managed to go out for a short walk. I like to watch the smooth progression from late cloudy afternoon to blue dusk, clouds descending down the slopes into the valey. Light was fading fast, temperature dropping and we were heading towards the warm glow of the town.

I'll stop at the words: the warm glow of the town. To be honest, I have never found a phrase to express it in a better, more meaningful way. That's what it is, when you travel from the "outside". Thanks.

Thank you. This is exactly what it looked like. I have a photograph illustrating that phenomenon, but it nowhere as convincing as what we saw so I'll keep it to myself.
