Derwent Valley, Crich, Derbyshire, UK |
This idyllic landscape has seen the birth of the industrial revolution. Not far from here Sir Richard Arkwright built the first successful water-powered cotton-spinning mill. Also the place from which this photograph was made, now the Crich Tramway Vilage, was where George Stephenson, the "Father of Railways" pursued his mining bussiness.
