We have bee blessed with wonderful weather today. This is the result of a stroll along Porter Brook. No Photoshop here, just Mother Nature.

Postacard from Padley Gorge

This was taken a week ago, in Padley Gorge, Peak District, when the leaves just started turning yellow. The weather was fabulous and there were a few other photographers wandering around. Couple of times I had to wait until they left the frame. But I guess it is not as crowded as, say Yosemite.

I used a polarizing filter to control reflections and also as a ND filter. I tried different speeds for the right amount of blur in the rapids - this is 3.2 sec at f/18

I think I prefer sunrises. the transition from darkness to light. the beginning and not the end. the effort it takes to rise early and be there and watch the world wake.

Shot from the ferry from Hel to Gdynia. We spent all the journey on deck to watch the sun go down. The complex texture of water is hard to show at this scale. Having tried to replicate such surface in CG graphics makes me really aware how intricate it is.

Lines

Here a series of drawings by the Greatest Artist. To me they bring images of China to mind, mist covered hills and meandering rivers.
I was amazed, watching them appear and disappear. They were there, for a moment, no matter if anyone saw it or not.
