Sycamore Maples
I photographed those moss covered sycamore maples (Acer pseudoplatanus L.) back in 2004 when we last visited Tatra mts. They are at the head of the valley where the miners had their huts. The miners and huts are long gone - the trees remain.

One evening we managed to go out for a short walk. I like to watch the smooth progression from late cloudy afternoon to blue dusk, clouds descending down the slopes into the valey. Light was fading fast, temperature dropping and we were heading towards the warm glow of the town.

Last week we went for a short (but long awaited) holiday to Karpacz. This is where I used to go on a winter holiday when I was a kid. And now I led my sons to the old maple tree where we used to play with my brother. Just as we were ploughing through heaps of snow back home I spotted those lovely pierced snow bumps.
